About Me

👋 Hey there! I'm Amgad Elgamal, a third-year Software Engineering student at McGill University, with eyes set on graduating in 2026. My journey is fueled by the mesmerizing world of coding, the depths of algorithms, and of course, ☕ a whole lot of coffee.

🔍 This summer, I had an incredible stint at Google. There, I crafted an open-source Google Chat App SDK, sprinkled with generative AI magic using Vertex AI and Dialogflow CX. I also engineered a nifty Node.js app to effortlessly add apps to multiple Google Chat spaces. These projects were not just about coding but also about learning, testing, and deploying using Google Cloud Functions.

📊 Before Google, I tackled challenges at Ericsson as a Machine Learning Intern. Leading a Mesa-based Multi-Agent Modeling project, I boosted model accuracy by 16%, crafted ML agents in Python, and mastered the art of MLOps with Azure. It was all about making things smarter and faster.

💼 My journey also took me to the University of Sherbrooke, where I worked on a fascinating medication deprescription study. Imagine processing 300 million JSON and CSV files! I extracted key medication metrics using Python's Pandas and NumPy, and deployed LSTM models with TensorFlow and Keras to predict physical activity patterns. It was data science at its finest.

🚀 Beyond the code and data, I'm deeply involved in the McGill Egyptian Student Association, where I served as President. We celebrated our culture, planned events, and created a close-knit community on campus. Outside the tech world, you'll find me at hackathons, navigating micro-mice mazes, or just dreaming about the next big thing in tech.
